James & Suzan Wines: What Can Design Mean?

June 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
For decades, James Wines has pushed architecture in unexpected directions.
As co-founder of SITE in New York City in 1970, Wines became known for projects that blurred the lines between architecture, art, and public space – including the iconic Best Products buildings that earned both the company and Richmond a lasting place in design history.
His daughter, architect Suzan Wines, is principal of the New York-based practice I-Beam and continues to work closely with her father and SITE on projects around the world, including an ongoing arts center in Amsterdam.
Join us at The Branch on Tuesday, June 9 from 6–8pm for a conversation with James and Suzan exploring the ideas behind their work and the question: What can design mean?
Suzan will join in person, with James participating live via Zoom. Tickets are $20 (half-price for students) and include admission to the Imagining Best Products exhibition.
