An Evening with Kobayashi Maki Design Workshop

May 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us on Wednesday, May 13 at 6pm for a lecture with Tokyo-based architects Hiroto Kobayashi and Naomi Maki, principals of Kobayashi Maki Design Workshop (KMDW).

Since founding their practice in 2003, Kobayashi and Maki have worked across project types ranging from private residences to large-scale cultural and urban initiatives. Recent work includes the Bulgarian National Pavilion at the Osaka World Expo, alongside ongoing efforts in research, teaching, and city planning.

Maki will speak about the studio’s work in Japan and internationally. Kobayashi will focus on disaster relief projects and experimental modular construction systems developed through his research lab at Keio University, shaped in part by the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
