Landscape architect Rachel “Rusty” Lilly has designed significant renovations to several Gillette-designed gardens in Virginia and wrote her master’s thesis on the landscapes at Lochiel, an Orange County estate near Gordonsville, Virginia. In an illustrated conversation
with Mimi Sadler, Lilly will describe her experiences with Gillette landscapes, focusing on her analysis of his work at Lochiel.
