Southern Gothic
Join Southern Gothic and TIDAL at The Branch on September 4, 2026, from 7–11 p.m. for an evening celebrating Black, POC, and LGBTQAI+ performers and creatives from Richmond and beyond.
Presented in collaboration with The Branch Museum, the event marks the first collaboration between artist-forward streaming platform TIDAL and Southern Gothic, Richmond’s artist-created event and festival series. It also coincides with the release of Southern Gothic’s first digital compilation – featuring eight Richmond musicians and available exclusively on TIDAL – and the continuation of Americana, an exhibition at The Branch examining how design, advertising, photography, fashion, and popular culture have shaped and projected the country’s identity.
The evening will feature an artist panel led by new media artist, poet, and professor SHAWNÉ MICHAELAIN HOLLOWAY, followed by performances from New York rapper Infinite Coles, multidisciplinary musician abdu mongo ali, and Richmond’s own Alfred. Billy Capricorn and CLWDWLKR will provide sounds throughout the night, with DJ J. Kirvin closing out the evening.
Presale tickets are $20 for the first 70 guests. Once presale sells out, remaining general admission tickets are $30. Local vendors, food, and drinks will also be available for purchase on-site. Complimentary face masks will be available. Free parking is available in the First Baptist Church parking lot next to the museum. Photo and video will take place throughout the event.

Established in 2025 Southern Gothic is an artist-created and run boutique festival / event series dedicated to amplifying the voices of Black and LGBTQIA+ visionaries within the underground music scene. Through SG our goal is to create spaces of liberation, freedom, fun and education for Black people as well as others disenfranchised through Politics.
